Do you tailor your services to a particular kind of client?
We specialize in working with people who are going through a life transition. Examples: selling a business, getting married, closing in on retirement, relocating, receiving a windfall inheritance, divorcing, widowed, finding yourself between jobs, having a death in the family, negotiating an executive pension package. So many roads open up during these times of transition, but you may not even know they exist. Our objective will be to help you take the financial road best traveled.
How long has your firm been in business?
Established in Germantown, Tennessee in 1990, Roop Financial Services is an independent financial services firm that offers securities and investment advisory services through Woodbury Financial Services, Inc. We currently have two financial advisors on staff and plan to add additional advisors within the next year. Our personal and concierge service is important, but would never grow beyond the point where it would compromise.
Do you work on commissions or do you charge a fee for your services?
Our compensation method can be asset-based fees, hourly fees or commissions(insurance products). We have a Fiduciary duty to put your interests first and act as a prudent person would with your finances. Our consultative team approach is designed to assist executives and families in making financial decisions consistent with timely, independent and unbiased advice the service in which our clients are accustomed.
How will I benefit from a meeting with Roop Financial Services?
The mission of Roop Financial Services is to improve the quality of life for our clients by providing financial clarity, wisdom and confidence. Our objective for every meeting is to have you leave with more clarity and more confidence along with a game plan. Our first priority is to learn more about your personal situation, identify your dreams and goals, and understand your tolerance for risk. Long-term relationships that encourage open and honest communication have been the cornerstone of my foundation of success. We strive to provide you clarity about the things you want to do and how you are going to get there; confidence that you are heading in the right direction; and a game plan for what’s next and the action steps you will take.
May I schedule an initial consultation even if I don’t live in GERMANTOWN?
We can meet with you even if you are not in Memphis. If you participated in a GoToMeeting at your job, then you know that video-conferencing technology makes it much easier for us to engage with you as if you were actually in our office. In fact, about several of our clients live in other parts of the country. They may have started in Memphis, but their jobs or retirement have taken them to other cities.
What happens at the initial consultation?
The first meeting is for both of us to discuss your situation and to see whether we think we are a good fit for one another. We can meet with a prospective client (or if married, both spouses) with no obligation on their part to retain our firm for financial advisory services. We are willing to set aside time for you so that we may confidentially discuss your unique circumstances to determine if we can help you. This is our investment in you. We make this investment so that we can meet with you to discuss how we can assist you. In return, we expect that you will come to the meeting prepared, and if you are married, that both spouses will attend the meeting. We cannot express enough how vital it is that you take the time to complete our Confidential Personal Information Questionnaire. In order to utilize our resources most efficiently, we request that you return your completed questionnaire prior to our meeting. Long-term relationships that encourage open and honest communication have been the cornerstone of our foundation of success. Most people will spend more time planning their next vacation than they will spend planning how to grow and how to grow and lessen overall risk of their nestegg or how to pass all their assets and values to their heirs.
