"My mission is to gain a thorough understanding of your life goals to make prudent investment recommendations as a fiduciary. - Walter Roop CLU.
As the founder of Roop Financial Services, Walter's upbringing instilled in him the significance of hard work, integrity, service, and nurturing relationships. These fundamental values have not only driven his success in his professional career but have also guided his efforts in the community.
Inspired by these principles, Walter has over three decades as a financial advisor. He creates diversified investment portfolios tailored to each client’s needs, with a focus on highly personalized financial planning and wealth management for families. Walter bases his approach on understanding clients’ goals, timelines, income requirements, risk preferences, and desired results. He introduces an Asset Map process to gain deep insights into his clients' objectives, using a comprehensive strategy that includes institutional multi-manager expertise. Walter has particular expertise in retirement income tax efficiency, prioritizes after-tax returns, and maintains a strong emphasis on risk reduction.
He believes that truly knowing clients personally is essential for successful advisory relationships. Through his Return on Life (ROL) process, Walter centers the discussion on what matters most—both financially and personally—to his clients. He helps clients articulate their vision of financial success and translate these aspirations into actionable priorities. As a fiduciary, he relies on LPL research utilizing the LPL Model Wealth Portfolios(MWP) and Strategic Asset Management (SAM) platform to design investment strategies uniquely suited to each client’s objectives, risk levels, timelines, and goals. Walter manages both initial and ongoing retirement income plans, selects suitable tax-efficient withdrawal methods, assists with Medicare and healthcare choices, and prepares clients for long-term care needs. His commitment lies in building lasting relationships and acting as a trusted advisor throughout clients’ financial journeys.
Outside the office, Walter’s top priority is his family. Originally from Memphis, he now lives with his wife, Cindy, in Germantown, TN. Walter enjoys growing blueberries and teaching AgriTourism on his farm, providing pro bono financial planning services to families affected by long-term care, traveling, fitness, and spending time with his family. Walter and Cindy are proud parents of two children.

Learn more about Walter
In 2017, I experienced the loss of both of my parents within a few months. This event highlighted the importance of estate planning for me. Later that year, my mother-in-law had a stroke, leading to the need for long-term care. By assisting her in finding appropriate home care and later facility care, she received suitable care tailored to her needs. Her long-term care policy protected her assets, allowing us to manage her care effectively. As a financial advisor, the role involves not just providing investment advice but also supporting families through significant life events by listening and planning together.
