A word from Walter...

In 2017, I lost both of my parents within a few months of one another. As a result of this, I learned first-hand the necessity of estate planning. Later that year, my mother-in-law suffered a stroke causing the need for long term care. While assisting her in finding the best options for her home care and later, facility care, she was able to receive the best care for her and her circumstances. Fortunately, her long-term care policy protected her assets from spend down, I’m grateful that I was able to advise my family during these life altering situations. This is what financial advisor professionals do. We show up, lean in, listen, plan together, and often laugh and cry together. We don't just offer investment advice or even wisdom, but most importantly, we offer ourselves.

What are your hobbies?
I've been passionate about farming since my teenage years while helping my grandfather on his farm. I'm also a road cyclist, fierce book reader and avid fly fisherman. My highest calling is being Dad to my son, Tyler, and daughter, Olivia, and proud husband to Cindy of 34 years.

What's your most useful skill outside of financial planning?
Farming and building things. I enjoy growing blueberries and harvesting honey from my 3 beehives. The farm has taught me discipline, patience, arithmetic, and a lot of horse sense. It also helps me appreciate my office more after returning from the weekend on the farm.

What's are interesting fun facts about yourself?
I’ve completed a century bike ride and several Triathlons back in my early days. My mother was an artist. Because of her love for art passed down to me, she instilled in me the love for drawings. I’ve done a few pencil portraits but feel like my God given talents are finance and investments.
